Musings from Smiley

Have you ever wondered why we get so down?

It's all based around man's opinions. We seek to find solace and acceptance in a world which, conversely, seeks to find acceptance from us.

It's a vicious cycle no one seems to dare break, yet we continue in rivalry and jealousy, all in our quest to gain some sort of fulfillment from the praise of man.

True beauty does not lie in the brief and transient natures of men. It exists in the constancy of a greater heart which loves us and only seeks to give us joy if we trust in its grace.

In the fledgling entrance of a rainy winter, I seek to find Him and cast aside my love of man's opinions. May you do the same.

Two different men opened doors for me to day! It made me smile to see manhood in action. (:

There was so much beauty again outside. The leaves were the perfect shade of gold and the world looked glorious!

Yesterday my brother turned 21 and it reminded me of time passing, along with all of the beautiful blessings of wisdom Christ has bestowed upon me since then. Today, the glorious sun has returned to the earth and warmed it up.

Saw the cutest baby girl holding a red balloon while cuddled safely in her daddy's arms. It just reminded me how blessed children are and how much I'm going to love working with them.

I found the cutest little orange lizard on the drive! He was a little sluggish from the cold, but he warmed up in my hands and started slinking around after a while. Aren't God's creatures amazing?

Came home today hungry and enjoyed a warm bowl of chicken pasta while the rain pattered softly outside.

Today it was so warm, it was like summer! I ate the most delicious McAlister's sandwich too and laughed over a poorly written English paper our professor made us look over in class.

Today I watched soft golden leaves scatter from trees around campus. The sun was out and a cool breeze was blowing. All the trees are melted with green and brown and filled with light and shadow.

Smile! It's a New Day!

Welcome to my brand new blog, www.smileymorning.blogspot.com!

I started this blog mostly for my own benefit. I wanted to take each day God had given me and fill it with joy and thankfulness. As Robert Louis Stevenson once said, "The world is so full of a number of things, I'm sure we should all be as happy as kings."

Each day I'm going to either say something I'm grateful for, post a cute or inspiring video, or share a quote or Bible verse that has been hopeful for me lately.

Smile! It's a new day, and the world is full of beauty and joy if we just open our eyes!
